Summer?

Updated: Jul 21

Even though it has been an extremely cold and wet spring and summer so far, my blog writing has taken a break, and I do not even know exactly why it has happened.. I think there are so many different things to deal with at the moment - animals, vegetable beds, greenhouse, garden, etc, so blog writing is going into the "I will do it tomorrow" pile..

Sheep and lambs have been outside grazing for a long time now, and in May, I did manage to spend a few nice afternoons with them, taking pictures and capturing the spring moments, which are far gone by now.

June was a very busy month in our family life with many family celebrations.

Our children finished their school year, and this year we celebrated our oldest daughter graduating the secondary school.

She has worked really hard for her exams and different science competitions, and we could not be more proud of her starting her A-level studies in a different school in the southern part of Estonia.

So, a new chapter is ahead of us, and it will be a different time ahead with her being away more.

As we have a rather long summer break until the beginning of September, then more time for family activities and summer fun!

In June, we also celebrated the Summer Solstice here in Estonia, and it is as big a family celebration as Christmas. Families come together, they have a barbecue, and sit around a bonfire to celebrate the shortest night of the year.

We had a traditional sauna on the Summer Solstice night.

At the end of May, one of our Angora rabbits had babies, and this was the first time for us to have baby rabbits. They are so adorable, and it has been an amazing experience to see them grow up so fast! I have added quite a few videos to our farm social media page, if you would like to see more of them (Facebook).

During these wet days, I have spent some time in my studio, and I also managed to finish the Inspiration Notebook, which is now available to purchase here. I believe we, creative souls, struggle with inspiration and motivation more than we share and hopefully this notebook will help you to get back on track when feeling lost and stuck. So, if this is happening with you, know that you are not alone and always, always try to find more inspiration to live the best life as a creative soul!

At the end of June, I had the pleasure of talking about my artistic practice and journey in the guest interview organised by lovely Lissy Boardman from the Heart-felt (Facebook) community. As crafting can be very lonely, I believe it is so nice to be surrounded by the support and motivation from different craft circles and this is one of these places to hang out!

If you are interested in needle felting, this is the place to start! The link is here.

The beginning of July has been very busy as well as we finally managed to open our farm shop and there is space for my artworks suitable for gifts as well. I will share more about next time as it feels like warmer sunny days have finally arrived here.

Stay tuned and until then,

Reena
