CONTEMPORARY FIBRE ART
CONNECTED TO NATURE

I am a textile artist creating sustainable fibre art deeply connected to nature and material. By combining traditional textile techniques with a contemporary approach, my work is grounded in rural life — in the quiet rhythms, textures, surfaces and raw honesty of the surrounding landscape.

Practice, Materials and Sustainability

I work mainly with natural fibres and textile waste, alongside other materials that enter my practice through experimentation. My processes include felting, punch needle, tapestry weaving, tufting and experimental techniques such as rust dyeing.

In my felted work, I use “homegrown” fibre, working with materials whose origins I know. The wool carries the traces of where and when it was grown, connecting the work to place, landscape and the changing seasons. My woven and tufted tapestries are made using textile waste materials, allowing these one-off materials to influence and guide the direction of each work.

My approach is slow and material-led, allowing the qualities of the materials and the process to guide the direction of each work. You can find out more about my process here.

Teaching & Online Courses

Alongside my artistic practice, I teach a range of workshops and courses, mainly in felting techniques but also in other creative areas. Teaching allows me to share traditional textile knowledge and encourage others to explore creativity through making. I also have experience working as an art teacher. Currently, I am running two online courses - "Textures & Surfaces" and "The Art of Felting" for individual learners, while continuing to offer in-person workshops that support hands-on learning and creative exchange.

Exhibitions & Memberships

I have actively participated in local and international exhibitions in recent years. My artworks have been exhibited in Estonia, Finland, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands and the Isle of Man, as well as on several international online exhibition platforms.

I am a member of the International Feltmakers Association, the Finnish Felt Association Filtti, the Nordic Textile Art Organisation and the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association.

Since the beginning of 2026, I have been the regional European coordinator for Region 15 in the International Feltmakers Association.
